Initial Ideas

For my main task, I want to focus more on the narrative of my music video alongside the performance. My initial idea was to show a girl taking revenge on her bullies while anonymous. However, most of the scenes for this narrative were supposed to be shot at school, but I couldn't get permission to do so. So I had to change up the entire storyline of my music video. As I have already mentioned, I also had to change the track I decided to use earlier.

My final idea for my narrative revolves around a girl, whose childhood trauma and negligence cause her mental health disturbance to her present. I like this kind of storyline because they have a sort of intricacy to them and allow for a creative impact to be made on the audience. This also highlights a social concern.

I wanted to go for some dark, but kind of uplifting vibes for my music video. The lyrics of the song already have that kind of vibe and I wanted to add to that with a complex conceptual narrative. I don't want my narrative to be too simplistic and sequentially conveyed. I would want my audience to catch on to the concept-based imagery on-screen to understand the narrative. I would be relying on heavy use of crash-cutting, a mix of both slow and fast-paced shots, jump shots for the narrative, and hand-held camera movements and canted angles. I think this would give me the exact energy that I have envisioned for my final cut.
